The Painful Cold Sore Symptoms
Cold sore symptoms can be quite similar – blisters will normally occur around the mouth particularly on or at the edge of the lips. During the first stage you will only feel a tingling sensation and sometimes redness on the affected area. Treating your condition during this stage helps in curbing further symptoms to appear. The redness and tingling will disappear within a day or two.
However, if you don’t do anything to stop the outbreak the second stage will show several more severe cold sore symptoms. During the second stage the redness will grow bigger and it forms into several sore located near to each other. The sore contains clear fluid and it will erupt when the sore reaches its maturity. This is very painful and will usually result in an ugly sight. If you pick at the sore during this stage, there is a great potential that the infection will spread to other parts of your face and cause the appearance of new ones.
If you ignore any forms of treatments, cold sore can actually heal by itself but the healing duration will be longer and more painful. When the fluid from the sore is gone, the pain will subside and it will start drying up. In a few days time a crust will form and it is very dry and flaky in nature. You should wait until the crust is totally dry if you want to peel it off. However, it is best that you leave it dry and peel off naturally.
